Pastels on grainy pastel paper. I've had this calendar with mountain photos on it for a couple of years and this particular mountain has fascinated me. Tried to draw it on numerous occasions, but finally got one finished as there is a lot of detail to include. I haven't included it all cause it's making me bi-polar looking at it there's that much, but hopefully I've done it justice.

The reference picture is from a 2007 calendar called Mountains. Mountain Name: Aiguilles du Dru (France). Photographer: E Nerger

This is beautiful. I've always admired people who can work with pastels. Are you using chalk pastels or oil?

Hi Anne, thanks:rose: - I'm using chalk pastels and love them - I've just bought some oil pastels but haven't had a chance to test run them yet sadly - there's so many things to play with in art I feel like I'm in a candy shop sometimes when at the art shop - it's costing my poor husband a fortune:rofl:

I know what you mean. I get most of my Encaustic mail order & I drool over the order forms LOL
I use birthday & Christmas money to fund my "hobby" as well as anything else I can talk hubby into putting towards my "future business"

Oh yes the future business - I like that one - keep threatening mine with it but my roundtoit machine is still in the repair shop:giggle:. On that thought though, have you checked out Etsy to sell your work online - the American market is huge for handmade items they love it - perhaps you could give it a try to sell you cards there to help fund further endeavours given that they are so well done.
